If you need to requisition a new water main(s)

If your properties are not front facing or near to an existing main then you may require a new water main(s) into your development. This is usually only required for large developments, however if you have a smaller development and wish for us to check the layout first please don’t hesitate to contact us. If you require a new water main for your site you’ll need to download and complete the new water main application form (PDF).

If this is a NAV development, please download our NAV application form.

You can also complete a site served application form if required.

Waste connections

The forms you need to complete if you want to connect to the sewer network.

Connecting to an existing sewer

To connect to an existing sewer, you will need to download and complete the sewer connection form (PDF)

Adopting sewers and drains

Sewer adoption is an agreement made between a developer and the water company. The developer promises to build and maintain a sewer to a standard agreed to by the water company and the developer. The developer is then responsible for the maintenance of the sewer for a set period of time.

If you need to adopt a new sewer, you must download and complete the sewer adoption form (PDF).

Requisition of a new sewer

If you're unable to make sure your building project or development drains to a public sewer, because the land between your site and the sewer is owned by a third party who won't allow you to access the land, you can make a formal request to have a public sewer installed. This is called a requisition.

To do this you will need to download and complete the sewer requisition form (PDF).

Divert an existing sewer

It might be that you need to divert an existing sewer pipe during the build or development process. If you do, you will need to download and complete a sewer diversion form (PDF).

Please see our Section 185 flow chart (PDF), which details what can and cannot be considered for self-lay diversions, along with a high-level summary of our processes.

Development enquiries

If your site is still at pre-planning or planning stage and you wish to find out more about the local network capacity and how we would supply your development, you may wish to submit a Development Enquiry. Please note these are first and foremost feasibility applications and are usually more suitable for larger development sites or commercial schemes with high water usage proposals. If your site is past the planning stage or you require a quotation or connection please submit one of our formal connection applications.

If you wish to continue with a Development Enquiry, you'll need to download and complete a water and drainage capacity assessment form for a proposed development.

We also have a Welsh Language water and drainage capacity assessment form.

Guidance for developers

Our guides can help you if you're new to building and developing and need to understand the process of applying to carry out work affecting water and waste pipes. You can read or download our developers' guides in PDF format.
