Leakage allowance
If you've had a leak at home that has impacted your bill, we may be able to help you with the cost.
Before you apply
Before you apply for your leakage allowance, it's important that you:
Once fixed, we’ll happily review your claim to see if we can cover the cost of some, or all of the water lost as a result of the leak depending on how long it was leaking for.
We’ll review your recent usage and remove any additional costs that are above your normal bill amount.
Things to consider before you make a claim
Non-household customers
Non-household customers, such as businesses and commercial properties, are fully supported by our leakage allowance scheme.
If you experience a private leak and repair it within 28 days, you are entitled to a 100% allowance for any water usage above your average, ensuring you won’t pay for water lost due to the leak.
This allowance is made after your claim is reviewed, provided the leak wasn’t caused by negligence or a third party.
To apply, simply ensure your leak is repaired, gather your meter readings, and submit a claim—our team is here to help every step of the way.
How to apply for leakage allowance
If your leak is now repaired, simply click apply now and complete the leakage claim form.
You may still receive bills whilst we review your claim.
We’d recommend continuing to make regular payments at this time and if needed, we’ll review your payments once the claim is complete.
