Hafren Dyfrdwy needs your help, to report leaks!

Thursday 4th February

The company is working hard to prevent leaks and bursts on the network and has asked its customers to report any water leaks that they might spot this winter.

Water operations lead, Richard Simpson, explains why: “We take leakage very seriously and our teams are out during the day and night looking for and fixing leaks, but there’s always more that we can do to make sure that our wonderful supply of water isn’t wasted.

“So we need your help. If you spot water coming out of the road or pavement, it might be a leak. We really want people to report these to us using our online form at https://www.hdcymru.co.uk/in-my-area/report-a-problem. While visiting our website it’s worth having a look at our ‘Check Your Area’ section on the homepage which shows leaks that have already been reported to us.

“Customers will often spot a leak before we can and we’re always grateful for their help. Please do not assume we already know about the burst or leak, even if it is a large one, particularly in rural areas where it is possible for leaks to run for days without being noticed.”

The company emphasised that each leak or burst is repaired on a priority basis, with those affecting its customers’ water supply being fixed first.

Richard added: “Providing our customers with a continuous supply of wonderful water is a priority for us so we will always fix these leaks first and then focus on others. So please give a good description of the leak when you report it so that we can get to the most urgent first.  The sooner we find the leaks, the sooner we can fix them.”
