Protecting Your Water Supply Near Mochdre Brook
We’ve identified a section of water pipe near Mochdre Brook that’s at risk due to flooding and erosion. This pipe helps supply water to around 2,000 homes, so it’s important we act quickly.
The riverbank is wearing away, which has exposed the pipe. If the erosion continues, it could damage the pipe and interrupt water supply.
Because of the challenges of fixing the pipe in the stream, we plan to move the pipe to a safer location along Mochdre Lane.
This new route will be about 600 metres long and will connect back into the existing water network to keep everything running smoothly.
We’re doing this work to protect your water supply and prevent future problems.
We’ll make sure that access to homes, businesses, and for emergency vehicles is maintained.
There may be short periods when access is affected—such as when we’re working directly outside your property. If that happens, we’ll let you know in advance and do everything we can to minimise disruption.
If you have any specific needs or access requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re here to help.
There is a diversion in place. Residents and other road users should follow this whilst we complete this essential work. The road is closed from the junction with Hoel Mochdre to Glandulas Drive due to works to install the new pipe. Excavations are taking place along this narrow road. Access is restricted to commercial businesses only and when possible.
