July to August are our busiest times for visitors so this can affect the approval of a filming application dependant on the size of production, location, parking and ecological considerations. 

Lake Vyrnwy

This location is in Powys, Wales. Lake Vyrnwy is within 45 miles of Wrexham and St Asaph. Lake Vyrnwy is surrounded by a perimeter road which is 18.9 kilometres (11.75) miles long.

Lake Vyrnwy is the perfect backdrop for filming with 24,000 acres of natural beauty and one of the largest reservoirs in Wales. Positioned in the heart of the Berwyn Mountain range, it has spectacular views of meadows, forests and the Rhiwargor waterfall. The gothic architecture, castle-like tower and impressive stone-built dam make it a truly unique location. Lake Vyrnwy has a car parking capacity of 130 spaces and space to cater for large productions. There are areas of additional flat space available to house a location base and park a variety of film trucks.

Llyn Clywedog

This location is in Powys, Wales. Llyn Clywedog is within 40 miles of Aberystwyth.

Discover the hidden beauty of Llyn Clywedog! With the tallest mass concrete dam in Britain surrounded by lush green hills and woodland there is plenty to film, this reservoir will take your breath away. The reservoir was built near Llanidloes in northern Powys to regulate the flow of the river Severn. Some ruins of Bryntail Lead Mine lie beneath the lake, while other parts can be found nearby. Llyn Clywedog has a car parking capacity of 50 spaces.
