Volunteering
We’re big believers in volunteering, which is why we encourage and empower our employees to get out and about in their communities.
Whether it’s volunteering at one of our stunning visitor sites, supporting our chosen charities or working with our key partners to help make our region’s rivers even healthier, our Community Champions are helping to make a real difference.
Meet our volunteering partners
We work with a range of organisations across our region.
Trent Rivers Trust
Trent Rivers Trust's team of conservation and restoration specialists work in partnership with landowners, businesses, volunteers, government bodies and communities to ensure rivers are valued by everyone. We know what healthy rivers look like and what they need, to continue to provide a home to the wonderful wildlife we all cherish.
Canal and Rivers Trust
As the UK’s largest canal charity, Canal and Rivers Trust's role in protecting and revitalising our nation’s canals never stops. They look after 2,000 miles of historic canals and rivers including 2,970 bridges, 1,581 locks and 281 aqueducts, and they are the third largest owner of listed buildings and other structures in the UK, with 2,705 in their care.
WaterAid
We’re proud to work with and support our corporate charity of choice, WaterAid. Our partnership with the charity stretches back many years, and our volunteering and fundraising has helped them bring safe water and effective sanitation to people around the world.
