Mark Isherwood, MS for North Wales, visits Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Llwyn Onn Water Treatment Works

9th May 2025

Member of the Senedd for the North Wales region, Mark Isherwood, paid a visit to Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Llwyn Onn Water Treatment Works.

As part of the visit Mr Isherwood was given a tour of the whole site where the whole water treatment process was explained.

Along with talking about the treatment process, the team talked about the all the investment that has taken place since 2013 when the works were completely rebuilt providing a new site to serve the Wrexham area.

Other topics that were touched on included the apprentice programme, which many of the team had come through themselves, water resource planning for the future and the support offer to customers with their bills and the Priority Services Register.

Mark Isherwood MS said: “It was a very informative visit to Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Llwyn Onn Water Treatment Works and lovely to meet the team that keep the works going for the people it serves. I didn’t know how much work went into the treatment of our water, so it was useful to learn more about that.

“It was also positive to see the amount of investment that has gone into the site and to be able to discuss the support that the company makes available for customers when it comes to bills.”

The tour was delivered by Craig Williams, Hafren Dyfrdwy Water Treatment Lead, and Paul Jones, Water Treatment Team Manager.

Craig Williams said: “We were really pleased to me able to welcome Mark Isherwood to our water treatment works and introduce him to the team. It was a chance to show the hard work that goes into treating water to the highest standard by the team for our customers, and ensuring our customers have water when they need it.

“It was also great to be able to highlight the huge amount of investment that has gone into the works over the past few years and really show how that work has greatly benefitted the Wrexham area.”
