Final call to apply for latest round of Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Community Fund

Monday 27 March 2023

Hafren Dyfrdwy is issuing a final call for charities and non-profit organisations to apply for funding for new projects that boost community wellbeing.

After awarding over £68,000 to eleven projects across the Wrexham and Powys region since first opening in September 2021, the Hafren Dyfrdwry Community Fund is encouraging groups to apply before the deadline on Monday 3 April.

The water company, covering mid Wales including Powys and Wrexham, launched its Community Fund in September 2021, to support new projects within the Hafren Dyfrdwy region focusing on boosting community wellbeing.

This latest wave of funding opened in January, with local non-profit organisations able to apply for a grant between £2,000 and £10,000 for new projects that aim to improve community wellbeing across three core themes:

    People: Projects that help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills;

    Place: Projects that help create better places to live in and use; and

    Environment: Projects that will help look after the natural environment, give people greater access to that environment or help look after water.

Jade Gough, Hafren Dyfrdwy Fund Officer said: “We’re proud to have supported some fantastic local projects through the fund so far and are really excited to give another chance for groups doing amazing work in our communities to apply.

“Applications for this funding round are only open for another week, so we’d encourage any groups with great new project ideas for their local community to submit their applications in to us as soon as possible.”
