Do I have lead pipes?

Lead pipes are often found in properties built before 1970

If your property was built before 1970 you may have lead pipes, however those built since then are likely to have plastic or copper pipes.

Here's a quick way you can check to see if your pipes are lead - find the point where the water service pipe enters your property - it's usually under your kitchen sink or in a cupboard under your stairs. Unpainted lead pipes are a dull grey colour and if scrapped with a coin you will see a shiny, silver-coloured metal underneath.

If you're not sure if you do have lead pipes or not, call us on 0800 085 8033 and we'll be able to arrange for one of our representatives to come out to your property to help.
