Hafren Dyfrdwy invests in new water pipes between Glascoed and Pontrobert

Friday 26 March

On Tuesday (6 April), Hafren Dyfrdwy will begin a £250,000 investment to upgrade aging water pipes between Glascoed and Pontrobert.

The company is installing 995 metres of new pipes to provide the area with a more resilient water supply that will serve customers with wonderful water for years to come.

Catherine Webb, from Hafren Dyfrdwy, said: “We know it’s a challenging time for everyone right now but making sure our customers have a reliable water supply is as vital now as it’s ever been. We always want there to be water for our customers when they need it, which is why this essential work improving the water network is so important to the local community. This work will allow us to make sure the network is in the best possible condition, so everyone in the area will be able to enjoy a reliable water supply, as there will be less risk of pipes bursting or causing problems.”

The works will take place from Tuesday 6 April 2021 until the end of July 2021 and include plans for a temporary road closure of the B4382, between the junction of the B4382 and B4389 and the A495 junction, in order to keep everyone safe.

Catherine added: “We’d like to thank the community for their patience and understanding as we work on this important project. We really hope this work doesn’t cause too much inconvenience, we’ll be working hard to make sure everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
